Hello Groovy People ... Here's our shows!
My Front porch with Paul Dee.
|
In addition to his on-air work, Paul Dee did outside commercial sales, wrote and produced commercials, was a local sportscaster, and covered local news events. He pretty much did anything that needed doing except taking out the trash, 'cause then the boss would have had nothing to do!
My Front Porch premiered on May 14th, 2013. For show times click here. Archives for previous shows, click here.

In Oz with Jeff (and Kody).
Music has been the backbone of Jeff’s life. Born in Ohio but mostly raised in Florida, he started buying 45s from hard-earned, allowance money with “Downtown” as his first 7 inch vinyl and the initial album “Daydream” as a birthday gift. A chart freak, he would follow the local and national charts to see where favorite songs placed. He even created a top 40 list of favorites and discovered the genre of charts of Billboard magazine.
Jeff considers himself a ‘no tone’ with zero inherent musical ability, but yet submerged himself in the variety, and fantasy, of ‘60s music. He made his own playlists, created on cassettes, full of his eclectic tastes. He even gave copies to friends! Jeff and his late brother would buy Hit Parader magazine for the lyrics to all the top songs, and had singing contests. His brother easily won. Nowadays Jeff still looks for various sources to create playlists that inspire with groovy music. In 1981, Jeff moved to the Bay Area in California and continued to collect albums, even rarer 45s, cassettes, and later on CDs and digital files. He still has his entire music collection at his current home in Santa Rosa and feels that a good song is a good song, no matter who created it. The In Oz show debuted on May 22, 2019. Million Dollar Memories with Barry Kay.
Barry Kay hails originally from Pennslyvania. He’s been a music fan since he was a wee lad and saved his lunch money to buy his first transistor radio. Barry was possibly the most popular kid hanging in the neighborhood as he became fast friends with the other kids because of his transistor radio and perhaps a little envy.
After high school, he started a band with some friends. His pal Dave christened them “Dave and the Unknowns. Unfortunately, they would remain unknown but had fun playing the current grooves such as Good Lovin’, Wooly Bully, and Cool Jerk. Barry sang lead with the group. After going to college in Pennsylvania for a few years, he changed career paths, joined the Air Force, and served our country for several years. Barry’s next adventure was enrollment at the American Academy of Broadcasting school where he graduated second in his class. Soon after completing school he landed a gig with WCMC at the Jersey Shore in Wildwood where he was the morning DJ. Later on, he moved on to WVIP in Westchester County, New York. His biggest interview score was the Jazz great, Dizzy Gillipsie. After his WVIP days he picked up the guitar and started twanging. And, since he was always a John Denver fan and dug The Rockies he felt a calling to Colorado, settling there in 1991, where he specialized in DJ’ing parties. His favorite band of all time is The Byrds, and he’s a big Beatles and Rolling Stones fan as well. And now he’s here at Groovy Reflections Radio. Million Dollar Memories officially debuted on July 22, 2020. For the show schedule click here and for playlists from previous shows, click here. |
